Emeka Offor was born to Benneth and Comfort Offor. He began his education at Eziukwu Primary School in Aba, Abia State, and later attended St. Michaelโs Primary School in Ogbete, Enugu. For his secondary education, he studied at Merchant of Light School and subsequently at Abbot Boys High School in Ihiala, Anambra State. After completing his secondary education, he briefly worked as a teacher at Abbot Boys High School before relocating to Warri, Delta State, in search of better opportunities.

In Warri, Offor secured a position as a transport clerk with Rivways Lines Nigeria Ltd, a company specializing in the importation of bitumen products. With mentorship from Pa Geoffrey Abadi, a friend of his father, he learned the intricacies of the trade and began supplying bitumen to smaller companies. His dedication and business acumen led him to supply larger firms, including Julius Berger Nigeria Ltd and Guffanti Nigeria Ltd. In 1985, he founded Chrome Oil Services Limited, which evolved into The Chrome Group in 1994. Today, The Chrome Group is a multi-million-dollar conglomerate with interests spanning oil and gas, power, logistics, insurance, broadcasting, and telecommunications.
Philanthropy
Offor established the Sir Emeka Offor Foundation (SEOF) in the early 1990s, officially registering it in 2006.
