Emmanuel Oko Isu (13 January 1943 – 2009) was a Nigerian civil engineer and politician who served as the Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007, under Governor Sam Egwu. Nigerian Leaders

Early Life and Education

Born on 13 January 1943 in Afikpo, Ebonyi State, Isu began his education at CSM School Primary Abakaliki from 1948 to 1955. He attended Government Secondary School, Afikpo, from September 1955 to June 1962. Pursuing higher education abroad, he studied at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, USA, from 1962 to 1965, and then at Columbia University in New York from 1965 to 1968. He furthered his studies at the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from 1974 to 1977, earning a Ph.D. in civil engineering. BioLegacy Foundation

Professional Career

Isu was a licensed professional engineer in the State of New York (1972) and New Jersey (1974). His engineering expertise contributed to various infrastructural developments both in Nigeria and abroad. BioLegacy Foundation

Political Career
